Advocacy for good governance and development

When Matata Ponyo Mapon was appointed Prime Minister in April 2012 by the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Joseph Kabila Kabange, he had the roadmap and obsession to reform the country. His goals were to uplift the Congolese Nation and improve the living conditions of its citizens. To successfully achieve his project, he needed to accelerate the pace of reforms. Security and the judicial system, economy and social welfare, natural resources, infrastructure, education... All these projects are prioritized in order to reach emergence by 2030 and strengthen the stability of the Democratic Republic of Congo. As he likes to say "development is not improvised, it is built." Thanks to his vision, accountability, and a method characterized by rigor and excellence, he will be able to fulfill his commitments. Poverty rate, human development index, growth, inflation control... These were the key indicators that he was able to enhance. "Men may leave, but institutions remain." All of these measures and results were consistently highlighted by the Prime Minister in his speeches, serving as valuable testimony, a solid information base, and a remarkable source of inspiration.
